Session: Agentic AI Has Arrived. What Does Work Look Like for Developers?

“Vibe coding” is on the rise. Meta’s Marc Zuckerberg predicts AI will be writing much of his company’s code in the next year or two. At Google, 25% of code is already being written by AI.

So what does that mean for developers and their work? How are they using agentic AI? What happens to work when the human interface goes away?

It’s easy to fall into a dystopian funk over how quickly AI is encroaching on developers’ territory. But some early data shows that AI, at least thus far, isn’t having the negative effect on tech jobs that many feared.

Developers have always had to adapt to new trends. Now, they’re adapting to the AI-based tools, resources, and models that integrate to create new workflows.

There’s a lot to uncover, and the jobs to do this work are still being defined. What’s your take? We want to hear it.

The New Stack’s founder and publisher, Alex Williams, hosts a panel in which he and three developers will engage with the audience and each other on these topics.

This session will be recorded
