
Cesar Saavedra
Cesar Saavedra, GitLab Staff Developer Advocate, focuses on all aspects of the DevSecOps life cycle and how AI can be effectively applied to it. He is also a founder of the Commonhaus Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to the sustainability of open source libraries and frameworks. Prior to GitLab, he was a Red Hat Technical Product Marketing Manager on Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP), Eclipse MicroProfile, OpenJDK, Jakarta EE, and Quarkus. He also managed the technical and product marketing for the overall middleware portfolio and worked closely with Engineering and Product Management to guide and drive marketing thought leadership. In addition, he co-authored the book “Hands-On Enterprise Java Microservices with Eclipse MicroProfile” by PackT, has authored white papers and blog posts, participated in conferences as a speaker and delivered webinars to end customers, partners and internal audiences. He has over 30 years of IT experience, many of them in the application server market, hybrid integration and API management. Before Red Hat, Cesar was at IBM, Oracle, BEA Systems, TIBCO, Lucent Technologies, and AT&T Bell Laboratories. In his spare time, Cesar enjoys spending time with his family, traveling and playing soccer.
