Shane is a Senior Developer Advocate for Open Source Strategy in Google’s Open Source Program Office. He is currently leading Google Cloud’s open source strategy for data analytics. He’s also a member of NOAA’s Data Archive and Access Requirements Working Group and previously led Google Cloud’s Public Datasets Program. Before joining Google, Shane was the project manager of NOAA’s Open Data Dissemination Program and an Air Defense Artillery officer in the US Army. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of South Carolina in Sports and Entertainment Management and has a Master’s in Data Analytics from UMGC.
