Working on database storage engines since 2001. Lead of MySQL/InnoDB where he scaled MySQL/InnoDB to where it’s today. The primary author of the MySQL FTS, Parallel DDL and many more features and core optimizations.

Currently an Architect at PingCAP working on TiDB, a leading open source MySQL wire compatible Distributed SQL Database. TiDB is in production at LinkedIn, Databricks, Pinterest, AirBnB and many other companies worldwide.

A firm believer in open source and has been working full time on Open Source projects since 2006.
