Session: Leveraging Decision Modeling Notation to power intelligent decisions
Every industry has a need to make automated decisions as part of their business processes. Deciding what technology to use for that automation can be confusing. It’s critical to understand the problem you are trying to solve and the characteristics of the use case. This enables you to align the right solution to the problem which in the long run will keep the total cost of ownership low. Rules are often written in raw code, which over time becomes harder to maintain as the complexity increases along with the rate of change. Decision Modeling Notation is an industry standard for describing business decisions and rules via visual modeling. It provides a way to manage the complexity of rules through configuration through an industry specification that is supported by many open source products today, including Open Source BPM products such as Camunda, Activiti, Flowable and jBPM. It also is supported by Open Source Rules Engines such as Drools.
In this talk, you will learn more about DMN and how you can leverage it to power the automation of your company’s decisions.
